The Nature of Horses
The Nature of Horses; by Stephen Budiansky is an aptly named, immensely informative book . Published in 1997, it remains one of the best and most authoritative books on the evolution, physiology, intelligence, and behavior of the horse. This book is scientific, but not at all boring.  Budiansky does an excellent job of presenting. I read this book when it first came out in 1997 and have just started rereading it.  It gives us horse people insight into what makes the horse tick.  Invaluable in using today’s modern training techniques of “natural horsemanship”.
