TOO BUSY TO WRITE - SORRY FOR MY LAMENESS
What a summer. Been awful busy. Spent a lot of time in Texas. Made it to the “Extreme Mustang Makeover”. What a cool event. Dennis did pretty good on Knight. Check out his web site. We started quite a few colts for others. I’ve posted a few shots from some of the sessions. I’ve had some busy weekends with my horsemanship class. They have been very well received. Even found time for a little cowboy cooking on the fire.
We shipped our Son, Cody, off to Parris Island for boot camp. He graduates in early December. Say a prayer for him and all our brave soldiers.
In early November I’ll start working with a two new horses. I hope to write more about the sessions as they progress.
In the meantime check out the Photos page from the summer.
God bless, have fun, ride safe,
Sandy

THE DANCE
By R. S. Collins
As the fog burns off the pasture
Hoping to overt a disaster
This dance of breaker and colt
I pick out the morning’s chore
NOT QUITE KNOWING WHAT’S IN STORE
This dance of breaker and colt
Praying he don’t buck
Knowing it ain’t up ta luck
This dance of breaker and colt
The language the kindest
The try just the slightest
This dance of breaker and colt
The young yet unbroken
Not whispered, but unspoken
This dance of breaker and colt

Prayer for the Breaker
By R. S. Collins
Say a prayer for the breaker as you saddle
For without his fine work you never would straddle
Say a prayer for breaker as he removes all addle
Say a prayer for the breaker, the rarified
The horse, OFTEN IS mystified
Say a prayer for the breaker that he’s satisfied
Say a prayer for the breaker, he subjects no pain
As the fears of the horse start to wane
Say a prayer for the breaker, he seeks to learn and to train
Say a prayer for the breaker, he has not WON
The horse and he are yet to be done
Say a prayer for the breaker, till they are as ONE
